United close in on Argentine pair
Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the £16million double summer signing of Argentine duo Juan Roman Riquelme and Aldo DuscherSir Alex Ferguson is hoping to strengthen his midfield following the departure of Roy Keane to Celtic earlier this season and feels Riquelme and Duscher can help fill the void left by his influential skipper.
Riquelme has been watched by Ferguson all season and has helped Villarreal reach the last four of the Champions League after they qualified through the group stages at United's expense.
The classy playmaker is believed to be keen on a move to England and feels United would be a good club to join.
He told The Daily Express: "I follow English football a lot on television. I have a clear idea of what the Premier League is like, it is very strong and United have a team crammed full of stars."
Duscher - who was strongly linked with a move to West Ham during the January transfer window - will be allowed to leave Deportivo La Coruna at the end of the season and looks to be heading for Old Trafford too.
He told the Express. "In these last few days I have been speaking with the president and the definite price is £8million. The club (Deportivo La Coruna) need money and I have no problem moving to England."

The Argentina international gave his praise for The Red Devils, as United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be lining up a move for the former Boca Juniors and Barcelona playmaker.
The 27-year-old has resurrected his European career with The Yellow Submarines following a nightmare spell at Camp Nou.
Riquelme's performances this season for the Spanish upstarts have seen Villarreal reach this season's UEFA Champions League semi-finals and the midfielder is sure to be a key player in Jose Pekerman's Argentina World Cup squad this summer.
With Ferguson reportedly keeping a close eye on the talented South American, Riquelme gave a positive reflection of the Old Trafford club.
"I follow English football a lot on television," Riquelme said in the Daily Express.
"I have a clear idea of what the Premier League is like: it is very strong.
"United have a team crammed full of stars. Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo have a great future, they are almost there already.
"And Old Trafford is one of the historic stadiums in world football."
United are widely expected to make a move for Riquelme's compatriot in Deportivo La Coruna's Aldo Duscher.
The Argentine has admitted that a fee of £8 million will allow him to leave the Riazor in the close season.
One player who could be heading through the United exit door is striker Ruud van Nistelrooy after reports suggested the Dutchman has a clause in his contract will allow him to move to Real Madrid.
It is thought the former PSV Eindhoven goalscorer could exercise the reported clause for a fee of £17.5 million.
Serie A giants Internazionale have also shown interest in the 29-year-old, who has lost favour with Ferguson in recent weeks. 哩度講埋
Real Madrid have been offered Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, according to reports from Spain.
The Dutchman's future has been a topic of hot speculation ever since he was left out of United's starting line-up for their Carling Cup final victory over Wigan in February.
That began a run of games in which French hitman Louis Saha was preferred to van Nistelrooy.
And even though he's started the last three games for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, many still expect him to be on the way out of Old Trafford this summer.
Now reports in Spanish daily Marca suggest the former PSV striker - who cost United ?9million in April 2001 - has been offered to Los Galacticos.
The reports say that van Nistelrooy, who turns 30 on July 1, has now decided to quit Manchester in search of a new challenge.
