It was an obvious ambition of FR4 to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. McLaren tried to focus their attacks down the middle. A mistake by the home side's central defence in the 10th minute allowed Josh Fairley to score the 0 - 1 goal for McLaren.FR4's Cheung Zhi Huan put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored the 1 - 1 goal in the 20th minute.21 minutes in, the referee awarded FR4 a penalty. Ng Jer Yaw coolly slotted it home for a 2 - 1 lead.FR4 had to make a substitution in the 28th minute. Gatot Subakti Agustiono limped off the field and was replaced by Kristoffer Larsson.There was a bit of a mixup on the field as McLaren found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to weak.A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased FR4's lead to 3 - 1 as David Thomas finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle.The visitors replied in the game's 39th minute, scoring the 3 - 2 goal, as Frank Sooväli dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper.3 - 2 was the halftime score.FR4 held the ball, with a clear 60 percent of possession.
McLaren's coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players had solid organization.In the 48th minute, FR4's Danijel Petrić received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
