Barcelona vice-president, Josep Maria Bartomeu recently revealed the club has the right of first refusal over two Atletico Madrid youth players as part of the transfer of David Villa to the Vicente Calderon earlier this summer.
In Tuesday’s press conference, Bartomeu insisted that the transfer fee for Neymar was €57 million, contrary to reports, and that Villa’s bid contained more than just the €5.1 million transfer fee.
“Neymar cost the club €57 million. Santos and other companies were paid. Many figures have been talked about, but the fee was €57 million.
“Atlético’s bid was the most convincing. The amount was €5.1 million, with a preferential option over two young Atlético players.”
Bartomeu did not reveal the names of the two players, but many reports believe them to be Koke, Manquillo or Oliver Torres, all of who just recently agreed to new deals with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. |
