Brentford manager Martin Allen has confirmed that midfielder Chris Hargreaves has joined League Two side Oxford United.
The 33-year-old looks to have passed a medical and agreed a two-year deal with The U's - a deal Allen claims he was unable to match at Griffin Park.
The move comes a year after the player joined The Bees on a two-year deal from Northampton Town.
The former Hereford United and Plymouth Argyle player has decided to continue his career at The Kassam Stadium, as new U's boss Brian Talbot looks to build his squad for the new League Two campaign.
Talhot's search for new faces has seen him take striker Stuart Beavon on trial from non-league side Didcot Town.
Beavon won the FA Vase with Didcot last season and the player has reportedly taken a week off from his job as a painter and decorator to take up a trial with Oxford.
