Cuper signs Inter starlet

Hector Cuper has announced that Mallorca have signed Alessandro Potenza from Internazionale.

Potenza, though, is not likely to be the only arrival at Mallorca as Cuper still wants four more new players before the season kicks off next month.

The Argentinian coach stated that the Italian's arrival spells the end for up-and-coming defender Ivan Ramis at the club.

Potenza, who is 21 next month, will join the Balearic side at their pre-season training camp in Kossen but it is the removal of Ramis from the squad that has caused surprise in Spain.

"He needs to play regularly and to improve some aspects of his game," Cuper explained, hinting that a loan deal maybe the solution for Ramis.

"There are elements that he can improve on by playing games every week for another team."

Ramis broke into the Mallorca side during the 2003-04 campaign after working his way through the club's youth ranks and appeared 22 times last term.

But Cuper believes that the Spanish Under-21 player is not good enough for his new-look squad.

Potenza is the fifth signing to arrive this summer after Mallorca brought in Toni Prats, Borja, Francisco Maciel and Fernando Navarro but the coach still wants another four players including a central defender and a new striker.

TWO MORE PLAYERS MOVE ABROAD

MILAN - The documents relative to the transfer abroad of two more Inter players were registered at the Lega Calcio offices this morning. After the loan moves of Sabri Lamouchi to Olympique Marseille and Gonzalo Sorondo to Charlton Athletic, and Emre Belozoglu's permanent transfer to Newcastle United, French midfielder Stephan Dalmat has completed a permanent move to Spanish club Racing Santander. Dalmat, who made 65 appearances for Inter, was on loan to French outfit Toulouse last season.

After spells on loan to Parma and Chievo which saw him win a place in the Italian U21 squad, defender Alessandro Potenza (1 Coppa Italia appearance for Inter after coming up through the Nerazzurri academy ranks) has moved on loan to Spanish club Real Mallorca, coached by former Nerazzurri boss Hector Cuper.

DINO MARINO JOINS AREZZO

MILAN - The club's policy of loaning out young Nerazzurri players to clubs in the minor divisions to gain experience continues as midfielder Dino Marino joins Serie B side Arezzo on a co-ownership deal. Marino made his Serie A debut in Sampdoria-Inter last 22 May, and made two other appearances under Roberto Mancini last season (a Coppa Italia clash with Bologna and the last league match of the season at home to Reggina).

MILAN - Nicola Beati, another young player who came up through the youth ranks then made his debut for the first team, joins Dino Marino at Serie B club Arezzo on a co-ownership deal. Midfielder Beati first pulled on an Inter first-team shirt in the Serie A match at home to Bologna on 17 June 2001, then collected five more appearances before moving on loan to Triestina. After making a complete recovery from a serious knee injury Beati spent the second half of last season on loan to Spezia.
