I am playing Roma too
I use 4-2-3-1 like Spalletti
defenders play long passing, DL/DL defensive->forward run often, cross ball from by line, aim target man, DC-> very defensive, Long pass, no forward run, MC/AML/AMR->short pass, forward run often, run with ball often, creative level high, AMC-> Free Role, Creative Max, forward run, through ball often, run with ball, hold up ball, direct pass, play maker, ST-> short passing, target man, target man supply to head)
I won Serie A and Champions League first year...
first thing is to buy Iaquinta for about 11m(best target man for around 10m, he can at least 30 goals a year, in my save he scored 49 goals in 32 matches, and I am at March only...his average rating can be 8.5+... and he can help head balls to Totti from the long pass from defenders)
and buy Esposito for 7m( to do this, you need to ask for extra $$ in the beggining, and you will have 15m, then buy Iaquinta with 24 months payments, so you only lose 5.5m in transfer budget)
you can buy Luis Jimenez or co-own for about 3m, he can play AMC/L/R after training, good for backup first year
remember to keep Rosi, dont loan it out first year, you need him because he can play DL/DR/AML/AMR after some training
dont forget to try to loan players from Chelsea(Wright-Phillips, Diarra, etc), Barca(Edmilson, Gio, etc), Liverpool(Gilberto Silva, etc), ManU(Silvestre<- dunno how to spell), Lyon(Diarra) just go to all Big teams outside Italy and look into the reserve, loan their good players for 50%-80% wage
Roma is strong but you need to play smart because it is poor and does not have enough backups...
but after a good first year, you will be very rich
I bought Van Der Varrt, Kompany, Riquelme, Amelia(Free), Saviola(Free), Coloccini, etc... after first year...
Okaka is great after some training,
in second season he can score every match (in my save he scored 10 in 4 matches)
or you can choose to sell Mancini at the beginning for 35-40m(you will recieve offer from Chelsea and Inter, just offer 35, they will accept)
then buy Esposito+Suazo from Cagliari for 15-16m, then use 32-35m to buy Klose
this way you have Esposito/Taddei/Suazo/Rosi for AMR/AML
Klose/Suazo/Vucinic/Okaka for ST
Totti/Aquilani for AMC
David Pizarro/Perrotta/De Rossi/Aquilani/Faty for MC (or buy Sivok too)
if have $$ left, buy Corluka, very very good DC for 2.5m...
I did this in my 7.0.1 save, won Serie A and Coppa Italia first year and second year, Champions League lost in Final...)
