Lee Chun-Soo In Talks With Feyenoord
According to reports in the Korean media, Lee Chun-soo is in the final stages of negotiating a loan deal with Dutch giants Feyenoord.
The 26 year-old international has been desperate for a return to Europe after an unsuccessful Spanish spell with Real Sociedad and Numancia from 2003 to 2005 but with the transfer window about to shut, Lee was resigned to an extension of his K-League career with Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i.
If talks are successful, Lee could find himself in Rotterdam for the remainder of the 2007-08 season.
A source close to Ulsan told Sports Chosun: “Ulsan, Feyenoord and Lee are in the final stages of neogitations with regards to a loan deal. Time is very short so we don’t know what will happen. Ulsan are also negotiating earnestly.”
Lee almost moved to Wigan Athletic in a similar deal at the end of the January transfer window but talks collapsed at the last minute.
The 2005 K-League MVP has appeared 78 times for the national team and reports in the Dutch media suggest that Feyenoord, who signed Lee's compatriot Song Chung-kuk after the 2002 World Cup, have been interested in the tricky attacker for some time. |
