Server Move, Part II
As you might have noticed, we spent the past 30 hours or so doing a server move. A few things that are leftover from it:
- MVP voting has been delayed. We'd really like to do a better job with it this season, so we are re-working the formula and reminding our voters to pay extra attention to how far a player carried his team. It should be completed in the next day or two.
- Transfers have been delayed so that everybody will have a chance to bid on players after the DNS is updated.
- We will create new countries and new divisions over the next day or two. Our priority last night was on getting the new server up and running as soon as possible so that we could turn the game back on.
Finally, over the next few days we will be announcing some changes to the balance of both the game engine and the economy for the upcoming season. We will try hard not to take anybody by surprise with these changes and to give advance warning of anything that will dramatically affect decision-making. One thing that we have done as of today is to make things easier on new signups; a new team will now have an easier time making their team profitable and will have more flexibility over the first few weeks. Thanks for all of the suggestions on this topic - while we don't have a chance to respond to every forums thread, we try hard to end up reading nearly every single one! |
