Your player is a good player and if you had let me know I might have chosen him.
As you said HK's offense is outside focused. so eliminating your player's inside shot, he's got inside defense 6, rebounding 7, shot blocking 8 and passing 6 as his main skills. There are few centres in HK who have passing, inside defense and rebounding of 7+ with higher experience.
Also, if you look at the USA roster and sort by salary. Most of the top salary players with high game shape are centres. So I am more in favour of high inside defense.
While you are on the USA roster page, look at their salary and you might understand why your player might have better stats then players in the HK team. Bear in mind that USA is only a team who got knocked out of the first round in the World Championship. If you check Brazil or Italy (who were in our group), they are even more crazy.
And regarding the squad selection, I cannot possibly scout the 70 odd teams in hk + hk players playing overseas every week. So if anyone else have good players please dont hesitate to message me or leave a message on the forum.
But anyhow you do have a good player if you train him well in the future.
