Ha Ha! Another Lazio fans!
I am new to this game and I have entered my third season... I got 5th in the second season, and the following are my comments:
1. sell peruzzi, use sereni. You would notice that sereni has a much higher reflex rating than peruzzi, and in the match, it's actully even higher than it. Just try to use him.
2. Find the guy called Mercuri. He's Lazio's secret weapon. I couldn't remember whether he's in the reserves or under 20s, but he is the best striker FOR THE WHOLE TEAM. Use him frequently and sign a 5 year contract with him.
3. Get either a strong central defender or striker. Fernado Couto's rating would drop quickly after the first season, so you need a good replacement. Talamonti is definitely not enough for a regular player.
  If you want to play offensively (just like me, I use 4-3-3), then you need to but some quick strikers to have cover for Mercuri. There are quite a no. of them in the free market, and they don't have to had a high finishing as your main focus would still be Mercuri.

striker: Marcelo Delgado * (must buy, although he's got a low finishing, he had good mental attributes and is fast!)

* players are what I've got in the free transfer, so until the secnd season I still haven't use any of my transfer budget!

Some more points to say:
1. Mercuri does not have a very high natural fitness so he would get hurt. You could still run this by letting your strikers to rotate.
2. Pandev is a very promising player. The weak-point is that he had bad stamina, so he can't last long. In order to let him grow, you have to 1. provide him a good traing schedule and 2. LET HIM PLAY THE WHOLE MATCH. This would push his stamina to his limits and would grow faster.
