Barça agree shirt sponsorship with UNICEF

FC Barcelona have agreed carry the UNICEF logo on their kits next
season. This will be the club's first ever shirt sponsor.
There will be a presentation at the United Nations headquarters in New
York on the 11th of August when Barça visit the city on their pre-season
tour of the USA. The contract with the UN will also be signed on that day.
The club are keen to promote themselves as a humanitarian club. FC
Barcelona were the first football club to formally support the UN
Millennium Development Goals campaign, with aims ranging from halving
extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing
universal primary education by 2015.
That agreement will see the club donate 0.7 per cent of their annual
income (€2million) to the fund from the start of the 2006-07 season.
