Five players miss Amsterdam trip
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of five players that will miss United's pre-season matches against FC Porto and Ajax in the Amsterdam Tournament this weekend.

Ronaldo, along with Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre, only returned to training on Monday, so will stay in Manchester. They could return to action next week in a friendly against Oxford.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed: "They only returned to training on Monday so they won’t go."

Gabriel Heinze and Nemanja Vidic will also miss the trip as they are recovering from injuries. However, new signing Michael Carrick is expected to make his debut in one of the matches after completing his £14million move this week.
