Even for the same football club shirt under the same manufacturer (e.g. Reebok Liverpool, or Adidas Liverpool), the shirts can be distributed to different Far East countries for the production process. Say, maybe the contract for the first batch of shirts sold from August (start of season) till the release of Winter series (L/S shirts, jackets etc) is made with THAILAND. Afterwards the re-stocking in January onwards maybe another countries - made in Laos, Indonesia etc. God knows?
What I can say is that, the labelling effect of "Made in Thailand" equates fake is certainly misleading. But we may not draw an early conclusion that "All 2006-2007 Liverpool shirts are made in Thailand". Just take the last Reebok Liverpool home kit (2004-2006) as an example - I've got 9 pieces of it in different versions (player shirts & replicas inclusive) and this shirt can have at least 5-6 differing washing labels and production origin at: Hong Kong, China, Indonesia etc.
Thus, at this moment all the shirts spreading around are "made in Thailand", maybe when the re-stocking comes pals buy the next batch of shirts as "made in Indonesia". So guys cannot say "That must be fake as all Liverpool 2006-2007 shirts are made in Thailand!" |
