Reds travel to Benfica
Mikael Silvestre has not travelled with the United squad as the Reds face what United No.2 Carlos Queiroz says will be another tough test against Benfica on Tuesday night.
"Individually, Benfica are stronger than last season," Carlos said. "Playing in Benfica’s Estadio de Luz also makes a difference. It has an excellent atmosphere as we know. We need to be on full alert if we want to come back with the right result.”
However, Benfica have stuttered so far this term. They are fifth from bottom in the Portuguese top flight after starting the season with a 3-0 defeat to Boavista, a 1-0 win over Nacional and a 1-1 draw at the weekend against Pacos de Ferreira.
Benfica, who were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Copenhagen in their opening Group F clash, are expected to be without Rui Costa and Nuno Assis due to injury. Coach Fernando Santos has Kostas Katsouranis, Georgios Karagounis or Armando Petit to call on as replacements, while he has beenboosted by centre-back Ricardo Rocha's return.

Ole can be a deadly weapon
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could prove an influential figure for the Reds on Tuesday in United's Champions League Group F rematch with Benfica at Estadio da Luz.
Solskjaer scored his first Champions League goal in almost three years when he fired in the winner against Celtic a fornight ago.
Alongside Ryan Giggs, who misses the match with a hamstring strain, and Paul Scholes, Solskjaer is the only player in the Reds' squad to reach the 20-goal mark. He has done it in 76 matches in Europe. By comparison, Louis Saha (two goals from seven games) and Wayne Rooney (four in 12) are inexperienced, highlighting Ole's importance.
Whichever role Solskjaer is used in - most likely as a deadly weapon from the bench - the Reds feel fortunate just to have the Norwegian back playing again.
However, one person never doubted the popular forward would make his comeback. Reds physio Rob Swire worked closely with Solskjaer and witnessed his incredible and dedicated approach to achieving his goal.
"I was always confident he would return because of the type of person he is really," Swire told uefa.com. "He was going to put everything into it that he could do. Some other players you do worry whether they'll come back because they don't seem as committed to the rehabilitation, but that was never a problem with Ole."
