i havent try ronaldinho, but van der vaart is capable of being a playmaker.i signed him from free transfer in 2010. his assist is not that much but he always score from long range as well as dead ball situation. in addition, i thk it depends on what formation u are using. i use 4-2-3-1 where there are 3 center attacking mf. it works pretty well. above all, i thk kaka is the best attacking mf. he can score a lot and provide assist.
