The Sunday Herald says Vieira could be on his way out of Highbury by the end of the week, with Juventus the favourites to sign the midfielder.
Sources close to the club say that Arsenal are ready to cash in on their 29-year-old skipper.
It is understood that the club feel that Vieira's lacklustre performance last season, coupled with his age and wages approaching �100,000 a week, have made him expendable.
On Wednesday of last week, Juventus officials flew to London to meet with Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein and Highbury manager Arsene Wenger and made a bid for Vieira valued at �12 million,
