Inter prepare Beckham bid Tuesday 5 December, 2006

Reports in England are suggesting that Inter are ready to offer David Beckham a £5m per year contract.
The former Manchester United star is contracted to Real Madrid until June 2007, but it seems likely that he will leave Spain at the end of the season after failing to break into the plans of Fabio Capello.
According to The Sun, the Merengues annually keep half of the £20m earned by Beckham thanks to his sponsorship deals.
But Inter could lure the midfielder by offering him over £110,000 per week, plus the entire control of his multi-million pound image rights.
Transfer guru Ernesto Bronzetti, who deals with Real’s foreign deals, is sure this is the right road to follow if Inter want to finalise the operation.
“I know Beckham will come to Italy,” he explained. “He’s not so concerned about wages as what he earns from publicity contracts.”
Beckham, who had stated in the past that he wanted to end his career in the United States, seems keen on remaining in Europe despite the reiterated interest expressed by Alexi Lalas’ LA Galaxy.
As well as Galaxy, Celtic, Spurs and Israeli club Maccabi Netanya are also reported as possible destinations for the high-profile star.
The former England captain would make a perfect replacement for Luis Figo at Inter seeing as his contract is set to expire in the summer too. |
