Man Utd sound out Arsenal striker Adebayor

Arsenal are ready to hand striker Manu Adebayor a new contract to ward off
attention from Manchester United.
The News of the World says Adebayor, who joined Arsenal last January from
Monaco for £7million, has been in stunning form this
season - and United boss Alex Ferguson has enquired about his availability.
It's reported United representatives contacted Adebayor's advisors to find
out if the frontman would be willing to make a switch to
Old Trafford.
The Gunners star is fast becoming a cult hero at the Emirates but his salary
of £20,000 a week is dwarfed by the
£120,000 that Thierry Henry reportedly pockets.
Adebayor's contract runs until 2010 and he will get a one-year extension
with a significant wage hike to reflect his rising status
at Arsenal.
