Inter Coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that his contract renewal is not as straightforward as patron Massimo Moratti has suggested.
The Nerazzurri tactician is currently contracted until June and has yet to discuss an extension, although the President doesn’t seem worried and stated that he only needed to find the time to meet with Mancini.
“Nothing has been decided yet, but this is absolutely not a formality,” said the Coach on Monday.
“I really don’t want to talk, because anything I say could now be misinterpreted. Furthermore, now there are other priorities, but the issue is not just a formality.”
Inter have increased their lead on Roma to nine points, after the Giallorossi’s slip-up in the home match with Messina, but the Coach does not believe that the title race is over.
“There are still 19 matches until the end – we cannot say that everything has been decided. Roma are faster than us, but we are stronger from a physical point of view.
“As for talk that I am being compared to Helenio Herrera? Let’s not joke – he is a legend,” concluded Mancini.
Reports suggest that the Coach is tempted by a spell in the Premiership, where he might land at Chelsea if Jose Mourinho were to decide to leave the club at the end of the season.
