Oddo rumours distracting Lazio
Valon Behrami has admitted that the uncertainty surrounding Massimo Oddo’s future is affecting the Lazio squad.
The World Cup winner wants to join Milan this January, but the capital club’s demands are currently deemed as excessive by the Rossoneri.
“I am concerned about the continuous speculation and rumours involving Oddo,” said the midfielder.
“He is worried, because the situation is unclear, and we all know that Milan want him,” added the Swiss international.
“He is our captain and we love him, but I cannot deny that we have been affected by this whole situation.
“In any case, I really hope that all the issues will be resolved in the next few days.”
If Oddo should finally complete his move to the San Siro, Behrami is a contender to replace him at right-back.
“I have played in that role several times for my national team, although my responsibilities there are a little different,” he stated.
“It is honestly a position that I don’t prefer, but if I were useful there for the team then the Coach knows that I am always at his disposal,” concluded the 21-year-old.
