Parma have signed Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old Italian American, who has previously been on the books of Parma as a youth team player, has been signed to boost the club's battle against relegation from Serie A.
Parma board member Roberto Cappelli told the Serie A club's official website: 'It gives us particular pleasure to announce the news that today we have concluded the arrival on loan until June 30 2007 of Manchester United forward Giuseppe Rossi.'
Sir Alex Ferguson had claimed he would keep Rossi at United to aid the Red Devils title push after an unsuccessful loan spell with Newcastle.
'I don't see why we should let anyone go who is going to be useful to us,' said Ferguson recently.
'The run-in could be full of all sorts of pitfalls. We want to be prepared for it and we want to be able to handle it all, so it is good to get Giuseppe back.
'He has great talent, which is why we let him go to Newcastle. And even though he did not have a lot of games, he still comes back to us with a bit more experience and a bit of quality.'
Rossi started just five times for the Magpies, an extreme disappointment for Ferguson, who only let the forward head to Tyneside because he believed Glenn Roeder would make more use of him.
As Rossi heads out of Old Trafford, fellow youngster Dong Fangzhou has signed a new deal with Manchester United after being cleared to play for the Barclays Premiership leaders.
The 21-year-old China international forward has signed a contract which lasts until 2010 and is now able to make his competitive debut having received a work permit.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told club website: 'We're all excited he has eventually arrived and can start playing.
'He sacrificed two and a half years at Royal Antwerp, which showed great patience and determination.
'He is quick and athletic and he can only improve by training with the first team squad here.'
United signed Dong from Dalian Shide three years ago for £3.5million - a record for Chinese football - but red tape forced him to join Antwerp on a temporary basis. He scored 35 times in 61 games in Belgium.
Dong, who will wear the number 21 shirt, has pulled on the famous jersey before but only in pre-season friendlies and summer tours.
He scored the winner against Kaizer Chiefs in Cape Town last summer as United failed to impress in a 1-0 victory.
