Vanden Borre set for Viola Tuesday 6 March, 2007
Reports are suggesting that Fiorentina are close to signing Anderlecht defender Anthony Vanden Borre.
The stopper is contracted to his present club until 2010, but a clause in his deal would allow him to leave in advance and the player is allegedly ready to move to Italy at the end of the current term.
According to the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Fiorentina officials met the 19-year-old right-back on Monday to discuss terms over a three-year deal until June 2010.
The Viola outfit have reportedly also offered ￡2.1m to the Belgian club and all parties involved are understood to be keen on finding an agreement.
The defender is also a reported target for Juventus and is liked by Coach Didier Deschamps in particular, as the Bianconeri look to strengthen the squad in view of their likely return to Serie A.
Fiorentina have already made one signing for next season after recently getting Arsenal-owned forward Arturo Lupoli to sign a five-year Bosman deal. |
