Henrik Larsson United (on loan) Age: 25
The Swedish striker's loan deal with the Reds ends on 12 March, a day later he will face his former team-mates for Europe's all-star team - a fitting farewell to a player popular among fans and his colleagues at OT.
David Beckham Real Madrid Age: 31
A global superstar, but he'll always be remembered at Old Trafford for being part of the famous ‘Class of ‘92’ that went on to be so successful during the nineties. It would be an emotional return to the ground he called home between 1992-2003.
Ronaldinho Barcelona Age: 26
Arguably the most talented footballer in the world. Since joining Barca in 2003, after nearly signing for United, he has won World and European Footballer of the Year titles, two La Liga medals and a European Cup.
Carles Puyol Barcelona Age: 28
The shaggy-haired Catalan centre-half is club captain at the Nou Camp, the heartbeat of Barca’s defence and one of the best defenders in Spain, and indeed the world.
Gianluca Zambrotta Barcelona Age: 30
A member of Italy’s World Cup-winning squad, Zambrotta is quick and can play on either wing in defence or midfield. He spent seven years at Juventus and won two Scudetto before joining Barca in 2006.
Lilian Thuram Barcelona Age: 35
Part of the French World and European championteams in 1998 and 2000, Thuram is his country’s most-capped player. He's won trophies in three countries at club level with Monaco, Parma, Juventus and Barca.
Steven Gerrard Liverpool Age: 26
Liverpool’s captain may not be popular among United fans for the club colours he wears, but his talent is certainly admired at OT. The 2006 PFA Player of the Year has an impressive array of medals: European Cup, two FA Cups, two League Cups, a UEFA Cup, and a Super Cup.
Jamie Carragher Liverpool Age: 29
Perhaps most renowned among United fans for two own goals he scored in a 2-1 United win in September 1999, Carragher is popular on Merseyside for his grit and tenacity in defence.
Juninho Lyon Age: 32
The creative Brazilian midfielder has played in all five of Lyon's consecutive title successes. Juninho is a vital component of Gerard Houllier’s team and is renowned as one of the world’s most expert and deadly free-kick takers.
Eric Abidal Lyon Age: 27
Since joining Lyon in 2004 from Lille, the left-footed defender has won two Ligue 1 championships and the Champions Trophy, French football’s FA Cup. Abidal has also won 18 caps for France.
Gregory Coupet Lyon Age: 34
Lyon’s vice-caption has made spent ten years at Stade Gerland and is regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in France. An integral part of the Lyon team that has won five consecutive Ligue 1 titles.
