Orsi named Livorno boss Wednesday 21 March, 2007

Livorno have confirmed that Fernando Orsi is their new Coach after Daniele Arrigoni was shown the door.
President Aldo Spinelli fired the former Cagliari boss last night, for a second time this season, following the 4-0 defeat with Udinese last weekend which left the club in 13th place.
“AS Livorno announce that an agreement has been finalised with Fernando Orsi, who will be the new first team Coach,” read an official statement posted on the club’s website.
“We wish to welcome the new tactician and also thank Daniele Arrigoni for the work done so far. The new Coach will be officially unveiled on Wednesday afternoon in Tirrenia.”
The 46-year-old Orsi, a former Lazio goalkeeper until 1998, worked as assistant Coach to Roberto Mancini with the Biancocelesti and Inter.
Orsi will immediately start working with the team in view of their next match with Catania on April 1.
That clash will be of utmost importance as the Amaranto have only won once since mid-November and are only five points clear of the relegation zone. |
