Japanese want Good Ba Ba to try again

Hong Kong's team may have disappointed in Sunday's Yasuda Kinen but Good Ba Ba's brave seventh will earn him an invite to return in the autumn.
Trainer Andreas Schutz said yesterday Good Ba Ba had been given a verbal invitation to represent Hong Kong in the HK$13.6 million Kyoto Mile Championship on November 18, a race Japan's Yasuda Kinen hero Daiwa Major won last year.
"I expect the invitation will be confirmed in the coming weeks, but for the moment it was just a verbal approach," Schutz said.
"They told me Good Ba Ba's performance was very good, in a race where the on-speed horses dominated, and it was a performance very similar to Daiwa Major's in the Yasuda Kinen last year, where he finished fourth. It seems they were quite impressed."
Then other overseas option for Good Ba Ba would be the Breeders' Cup Mile in America on October 26 but the timing of the race makes running in both features impossible.
"I have been toying with the idea of taking him to America but I would really have liked Good Ba Ba to have already been a Group One winner before be goes to a race like the Breeders' Cup," Schutz explained. "But the way the races are programmed in Hong Kong, that will simply not be possible."
