Football Italia rounds up the winners and the losers from Week 30 of the Serie A season

The winners…
Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria)
Quagliarella capped off a week to remember with one of the most audacious goals of the season. Just days after making his international debut, the Sampdoria striker confirmed his passion for the spectacular with a strike that suggests he’s a champion in the making. He’ll be a wanted man over the summer.
Cristiano Lucarelli (Livorno)
He was the Man of the Match at the Picchi as the Livorno captain guided his teammates to a vital win. Despite going a goal down, the powerful hitman netted a neat hat-trick which ensured a 4-1 victory. It was a performance that even President Aldo Spinelli – who has again clashed with the forward – had to applaud.
Tommaso Rocchi (Lazio)
The Italian international has been the key man in Lazio's seven-match winning streak. The former Empoli sensation slotted home a penalty to make it 4-1, but much more crucial were his assists for Stefano Mauri and Valon Behrami.
The losers…
Marco Zoro (Messina)
Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong for Zoro at Cagliari. He constantly lost out in his battle with David Suazo, he deflected an Alessandro Budel shot into his own goal and was then dismissed for two bookings.
Marco Delvecchio (Ascoli)
Veteran Italy striker Delvecchio put in the most ludicrous performance of the weekend. After coming on as a substitute after a long injury lay-off, he managed to get himself sent off just four minutes later for an utterly useless tackle from behind on Empoli's Nicola Pozzi.
Clarence Seedorf (Milan)
The Dutchman disappointed in the Olimpico showdown between Milan and Roma. Boss Carlo Ancelotti would surely have been expecting more from the midfielder both offensively and defensively. He was understandably replaced by Yoann Gourcuff.
The goals…
Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria)
The Sampdoria ace has scored some real crackers so far this season, but his effort at Chievo really has to be seen to be believed. The former Toro youngster found himself with his back to goal, approximately 40 metres out, when he hit the ball on the turn and watched it loop over Lorenzo Squizzi.
Philippe Mexes (Roma)
Although some questions marks remain over the goalkeeping of Nelson Dida, let’s give some credit to Mexes for his strike against Milan at the Olimpico. A corner was played to the edge of the area and the onrushing defender smashed it first time into the roof of the net. Ooh la la…
Stefano Fiore (Livorno)
We got a glimpse of the ‘old’ Stefano Fiore at the weekend when he gave Livorno the lead against Catania. The former Lazio playmaker, with his back to goal, subtly turned Lorenzo Stovini and slotted the ball low into the corner of the net.
The numbers…
Record breakers
Inter have smashed the points record at this stage of the season by collecting 79 from 29 games. The previous record of 74 was achieved by Juventus last season. Inter, who have netted in their last 33 home League games, have won 21 out of their last 22 top-flight ties.
Centurion Cristiano
Cristiano Lucarelli now has 100 goals in Serie A thanks to his hat-trick against Catania. The captain, with 15 goals to his name this term, has netted 58 of those strikes with his hometown team.
Seventh Heaven
Lazio’s win at Udinese was their seventh successive victory in Serie A and leaves them just two short of the club record nine, achieved by the great Biancocelesti side of 1998-99. The capital boys also have the second best away record in the Division this term with eight wins on the road, Inter have 13.
