Toni set for Bayern switch?

Reports in the Italian newspapers today suggest Luca Toni has agreed a move to Bayern Munich worth £3.7m per season.

The Fiorentina hitman has long been linked with a summer switch and although the prime candidates were Inter, Milan and Juventus, it now seems that an overseas option is preferred.

Bayern Munich have allegedly offered £12.3m to tempt the Italian international to the Bundesliga next season.

This would give him the opportunity to play in the Champions League and ensure the Viola do not reinforce their direct opponents in Serie A.

The key to the whole deal could come this evening, as Toni is suspended and so Giampaolo Pazzini has the chance to prove himself a worthy replacement.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino is also in negotiations with Lyon defender Claudio Cacapa. The 30-year-old Brazilian will be out of contract in the summer.
