Lucarelli set for Viola

Livorno striker Cristiano Lucarelli has announced that he will join Tuscan rivals Fiorentina at the end of the season.
The No 99 was furious after he was met with boos during the disappointing 1-1 draw with Reggina, and reacted by insisting he would leave the Amaranto in the summer.
“I am joining Fiorentina. Until the end of the season I remain a Livorno player, then we will just remain friends,” said Lucarelli, who was in London to participate in a seminar on the ills of Italian football.
“Unfortunately I gave all I had to Livorno, but I got much less in return,” added the Amaranto.
The captain, who was born and bred in the Tuscan city, has been linked with a move away for some time now due to his difficult relationship with President Aldo Spinelli.
The player, who was sidelined through suspension over the weekend, was invited by a group of Ultras to join them on the Curva for the match with Palermo, but he chose to decline.
“I don’t want to run the risk of it being used by the media. This is my last year at Livorno after everything that I’ve heard this season,” he declared.
Lucarelli joined Livorno in 2003, helping the club to its first promotion from Serie B in 55 years, and has scored 18 goals so far this season.
The 31-year-old was on the verge of a January move to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, but rejected the switch at the last minute because he wanted to stay in Italy.
