Marco Amelia’s agent announces an imminent move to Lazio – but the Biancocelesti say it’s the first they’ve heard of it!
On the same day as the David Suazo-Inter-Milan transfer triangle, another chaotic deal has hit the front pages.
“Livorno President Aldo Spinelli wants to sell, Lazio President Claudio Lotito needs to find Angelo Peruzzi’s heir and Amelia has given his consent to the transfer,” agent Carlo Pallavicino told Stadionews.
“The two Presidents just need to sit down and talk it over, as the rest has already been agreed.”
Backing up this claim was the Livorno patron, who explained that the final talks would be in the next few days or even hours.
“We received an offer from Lazio for Amelia. I’ll discuss it with Lotito in the Lega Calcio meeting, even if it’s difficult to get time with him,” said Spinelli. “The negotiations are only a step away from official completion.”
Yet this all seems to be news to Lazio patron Lotito. When asked about the comments he told journalists: “I don’t know anything about this affair.”

Cassetti rules out Lazio

Marco Cassetti has underlined that he would never join Lazio if Roma fail to keep hold of him this summer.
“Signing for Lazio is something that I would not do – even if I were to receive a great offer,” said the accomplished right-back.
“I couldn’t do it, out of respect for the Roma supporters. I will wait and see what happens next with me but I hope to be there when next season’s team is presented officially.”
The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi from Lecce in a co-ownership deal a year ago and is hoping that the capital club reach an agreement to buy out the remaining 50 per cent of his contract.
“I want to stay here, both [Coach] Luciano Spalletti and [sporting director] Daniele Pradè know this,” added Cassetti.
“I have an excellent relationship with the Coach as we have never had any problems. I think I did my best last term and I adapted immediately to my new environment.
“That is why I don’t want to return to Lecce and I am not considering any other options.”
Meanwhile, Saint-Etienne striker Pascal Feindouno will not join Roma this summer, his agent Fabrizio Ferrari has confirmed.
“I don’t think there is much of a chance that we will see Pascal with the Giallorossi,” he noted.
“It is my understanding that they have other transfer objectives. It is a pity as I think he could have been useful to Spalletti’s tactics.”
