Following his £1.5 million to Fulham from Leeds United, Northern Ireland international David Healy has declared that he will prove himself in the Premier League. Healy`s top-flight experience to date came in a single substitute appearance for Manchester United during the 99/01 season and he now believes he can make it on the big stage.
Whilst his international record speaks for itself, he is after all Northern Ireland`s top goal scorer of all time; Healy`s league form isn`t as wonderful with an average of 0.25 goals per game.
Talking to the Fulham F.C. website Healy said "I am confident in my ability and I am confident that I will score goals in the Premier League,"
"I could easily have stayed at Leeds or signed for a club in the Championship, but everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different."
It remains to be seen as to whether Healy can actually cut it in the top division.

Kieran Richardson has signed for Sunderland from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The England international, 22, has inked a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light and could make his debut in Wednesday's friendly at Darlington.
Richardson, a one-time team-mate of Roy Keane, joins the Black Cats after five years at Old Trafford.
Keane said: "I'm delighted that we've been able to bring Kieran to Sunderland.
"Having worked with him in the past I'm well aware of what a good player and a good lad he is. He's ready for a fresh challenge and hopefully sunderland will provide that for him."
Richardson added: "It's an exciting move for me. I know all about Roy Keane and I'm looking forward to playing for his team. Sunderland is a big club and it's a great move for me."
Richardson is Keane's fourth summer signing after Greg Halford, Russell Anderson and Michael Chopra.
The London-born player, capped eight times by England, made 81 appearances for United after joining the club as a trainee.
He scored twice on his England debut in May 2005 as Sven-Goran Eriksson side beat the USA 2-1 in an end-of-season friendly.
Richardson spent four months on loan at West Brom in the 2004-05 campaign, helping Bryan Robson's side escape the drop in dramatic circumstances on the last day of the season..
The winger played for England in the European Under-21 Championships this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido claims he has agreed a transfer to Birmingham City.
The Egyptian has struggled to make an impact at White Hart Lane since securing a permanent move from Roma last summer.
He has been linked with Fulham and Portsmouth, although Mido recently denied he had settled on a switch to Craven Cottage.
The 24-year-old now seems set to link up with Premier League new boys Birmingham after revealing talks have taken place.
Mido expects to move to St Andrews on an initial loan deal, which will become permanent, if Blues survive in the top flight.
"Both sides have agreed terms," Mido told FilGoal.com.
"I will move on a one-year loan deal to Birmingham worth £1million and at the end they could buy my contract for £5million, if the club survives in the Premier League.
"Birmingham's offer is the best I had received, especially that I chose to stay in England."
Blues boss Steve Bruce is also interested in Spurs midfielder Hossam Ghaly, and Mido would be happy to see his fellow Egyptian join him in the Midlands.
He added: "I would love to have him (Ghaly) with me in the same team."
