Geremi hopes -but no agreement
Wednesday saw a fourth possible summer signing lined up by Newcastle, with Chelsea's Cameroon midfielder /defender Geremi at the training ground for talks over a free transfer move.
The following day Sam Allardyce confirmed the club's interest, saying:
"Geremi is something we would like to pursue, but many other clubs in the Premier League will be doing exactly the same thing as Newcastle.
"Hopefully we can persuade him - if we get the opportunity - to join this football club and not the others who will be chasing him as well as us.
"It is a long way from done, but there is an interest there and hopefully we can progress it over the next few days."
Interestingly the Northern Echo claimed on Thursday that Geremi shares the same representation as Allardyce: agent Mark Curtis.
There had been recent speculation that the 28 year-old could swap Stamford Bridge for a second stint at the Riverside - having played for the Smoggies in season 2002/03 on loan from Real Madrid.
Geremi - full name Geremi Sorele Njitap Fotso - scored on his most recent international outing, as Cameroon beat Rwanda 2-1 last week.
That victory confirmed Cameroon's qualification for the African Cup of Nations finals, staged in Ghana between January 20th and February 10th 2008.
Before that, Cameroon play a friendly in Japan on August 22nd as preparation for their final Nations Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea on September 7th.

DAVID ROZEHNAL FACTFILE

Czech International David Rozehnal was Sam Allardyce's third signing as manager of Newcastle United on 29 June 2007 when the Sternberk born defender put pen to paper on a four-year-deal at St. James' Park from Paris St Germain - United beating off competition from Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

David, an accomplished centre-half with 34 international caps to his name, began his career at Sigma Olomouc in 1999 where he played 72 games, scoring twice. He then moved to Club Brugge in 2003 and in two seasons in Belgium he played a further 50 matches, one goal, before transferring to Paris St Germain in July 2005.

David played for the Czechs at Euro 2004 in Portugal and also in Germany at the 2006 World Cup - playing against USA, Ghana and Italy in the opening round as the Czechs surprisingly crashed out of the tournament after the group stage.

Last season at Paris St Germain, David was voted his club's Player of the Season and was also selected in the Ligue 1 team of the season in France.

David played eight times for the Czech Under 21s before making his debut in February 2004 for the senior team against Italy.

David, who will be the second Czech to play for the Magpies, after Pavel Srnicek, remarkably becomes the sixth United player to join the club from Paris St Germain, following in the footsteps of David Ginola (1995), Didier Domi (1998), Alain Goma (1999), Laurent Robert (2001) and Sylvain Distin (2001).

賣左柏加, GE話可以用個平D GE價錢買到個功用一檥GE人
仲可以加多個後防

其實小弟覺得柏加永遠係埸上最搏果位，但係英格蘭果面d紐迷狂小柏加，寄信去要求賣走柏加。

有d內容......

我唔否認joey可以好搏

如果單論防守能力，joey係好過柏加。
不過joey就好似你所講，經常後上助攻，好易導致後面有空位~
柏加第一季都會多d留係後面。
但係上季就經常上去助攻(聽聞係路達要求佢做第二個謝拉特 )
所以攪到安利要做埋佢果份。
