La Liga - Villarreal are to sign Argentine keeper Oscar Ustari from Independiente for 6 million euros
The 21-year-old shot-stopper is considered to be one of South America's brightest goalkeeping hopes and will sign a four-year deal.
The player was supposedly attracting interest from Barcelona and will compete with Uruguay international Sebastian Viera for the number one jersey, with current back-up keeper Mariano Barbosa expected to go on-loan to another Spanish club.
Ustari - who is married to the daughter of 1986 World Cup winner Ricardo Giusti - was selected in the national team squad for the 2006 World Cup but has not yet won a cap for Argentina.
The move will cast doubts on the future of Viera, who himself is only 23 and almost joined Arsenal in 2005 but has been under scrutiny for a number of high-profile errors. |
