This might cause a great talent for us to be a mediocre talent instead - however there might be a mediocre talent becoming a great one as well. If we look beyond tomorrow, this actually adds a whole new dimension to the U20-management, as it makes it possible to build strategy for the group stages beyond the qualifiers with players that are as old as possible for those stages - it is now not only about those players eligible to play the qualification and those eligible to play the playoffs. The playoffs might be pretty much split into two sections now - the first one being the first group stage which is quite a few weeks before the next one after that. It will be exciting to see how the different U20-managers will handle that approach. So all in all it adds something positive - not just negative things to it.
However I think they could have introduced it more smoothly by only adding it for new youth pulls and for players aged 21+ and let it come in naturally for the players already aged 17-20 in order to not let early planning go to waste because of this. But we will have to live with it the way they have decided I am afraid.
When it comes to the other one concerning the economy I am a little concerned that they don't deal with the most pressing thing - the oversupply. The chance they seem to be doing now seems to only be a sort of peeing the pants to stay warm. The oversupply needs to be dealt with before other measures are taken in my opinion..
