曼聯領隊費格遜指球會正就利物浦希望收購軒斯一事作出調查。

本周初英超仲裁小組判決後，軒斯也於周中正式轉會皇家馬德里，不過今次事件仍然餘波未了。

利物浦領隊賓尼迪斯對於今次三人小組的判決感到失望。不過，費格遜卻表示：「我們正調查利物浦於整件事的角色。我們不會讓他們就此作罷。」

軒斯辯稱有一份由紅魔鬼行政總裁基爾所簽的文件，指出如果有球會付出一定價錢，球會就需同意出售。不過英超賽會最終指軒斯起訴無效，令他一心轉會利物浦的希望粉碎，球會也隨即將他售予皇馬。

賓尼迪斯曾說他有百分百信心軒斯可轉會成功，也大肆批評英超賽會及曼聯於判決後的行動。

費格遜更回應指賓尼迪斯的批評「非常無禮」，並證實基爾已著手調查利物浦於今次事件中的角色。

被問及利物浦有否私下暗斟軒斯，費格遜回應道：「我們會著手調查。大衛基爾已開始工作，我們將會查根究底。」

費格遜也同時反駁賓尼迪斯指曼聯並無艱辛賽程的言論：「這令人十分失望，他竟然談及賽程。我想他應該看看我們近兩三季的賽程表。」

「利物浦根本沒有機會贏得這次官司，賓尼迪斯也沒有細讀英超守則。這實在是非常無禮的言論。」

賓尼迪斯較早時表示：「軒斯擁有一份明確的文件，不過賽會卻選擇相信一些犯錯的人的說話。我知道在聆訊上有出現對利物浦的指控，這事怎能容許？」

他也不滿英超編排利物浦在周六於英國時間中午十二時四十五分（香港時間七時四十五分）作客新特蘭。

他續說：「我希望問一下英超賽會，為什麼利物浦經常要在周中國際賽以後的周末英超早場進行作客比賽？次數比其他頂級球會都要多。」

賓尼迪斯也不滿迪維斯的交易，他認為今次交易比起他斟介馬斯查蘭奴要容易得多。兩名球員均於去年夏天轉會韋斯咸，不過由於兩人的合約均擁有第三者擁有權，令交易變得複雜化。

「我也希望詢問英超賽會為什麼利物浦簽馬斯查蘭奴如此困難，需要等待這麼長的時間去完成書面手續，但迪維斯轉會曼聯卻如此容易？」

曼聯領隊費格遜支持最近備受批評的熱刺領隊祖爾。

由於熱刺在開季成績並不理想，只能取得一勝兩負，領隊祖爾則備受批評。而曼聯則會在週日在主場迎戰熱刺。

「在過去有很多領隊在只踢了四至五場比賽後便被球會解僱。」費格遜說。

「我在數年前昆亞雷斯到了皇馬執教的一年，曾經與祖爾進行面試考慮讓他成為我的助教，因此我絕對知道他的能力，不過當然他沒有需要我去替他宣揚他的才能。」

「熱刺已經四十五年沒有贏過聯賽冠軍，現在是時候球迷去希望球隊再次爭取錦標。現在祖爾的方向是對的，不過他需要很多的時間去建立球隊才能有收成。」

The Reds have drawn with Reading and Portsmouth and lost to Manchester City in the opening three games of the season. And in United’s title defence, Sir Alex admits the team has already given itself an uphill task. But he’s confident that the Reds’ poor luck cannot continue.

"We will win the game on Sunday," he said confidently. "Our performance level will win the game for us. There is no question Tottenham will come here with a great determination to help their manager. But with the ability in this team, I know the results we have been having will not carry on for long."

The Reds boss remains upbeat despite the disappointment of last week’s derby defeat, although he was significantly heartened by the performance and dominance of his team. "Has there ever been a derby game in history where the home side did not win one corner?” he said incredulously. "I am perfectly aware winning is the name of the game, and we do not like losing. But everyone played with great intensity and commitment, and their passing was excellent. It was just the finishing that let us down.

"You just have to ride along with it. There is no point me deserting players who have proved their ability at the top level of the game. So, what is the issue? The issue is that - because we are not winning games - there is a different slant on everything. I understand that. It’s the opposite of last season’s good start in terms of results. But performance-wise, we’ve done really well.

“We had the worst result. But if there is a saving grace, it’s that Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all dropped two points. That in some way helped to ease the pain.”

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Louis Saha could be on the bench for Sunday's must-win clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford.

The French striker has not played since the Champions League semi-final defeat to AC Milan on 2 May because of a knee complaint which resulted in surgery over the summer.

Saha has now completed two full weeks' training and is in contention for a spot on the subs bench this weekend.

Meanwhile, a scan has shown there is no damage to Edwin van der Sar's foot meaning the Dutchman is fit to start Sunday's game.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper picked up a knock in training whilst on international duty for Holland earlier this week, but Sir Alex confirmed his No.1 stopper is okay.

There was more good news for the Reds after confirmation that both Owen Hargreaves and Anderson are fit. Hargreaves sat out England's friendly defeat to Germany because of tendonitis, while Anderson missed last weekend's derby loss with a hamstring strain. However, both are available for Sunday, with Hargreaves likely to start.

Gary Neville's bad luck continues with the news that he will be out of action for a further two weeks after picking up a thigh injury in training last week.

The Reds' defender has been missing since the middle of March after initially injuring his ankle. An operation followed in May from which he made a full recovery. But in doing so, he suffered a calf strain, before picking up his latest knock.
