Andy van der Meyde has returned to the Everton squad for the Carling Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday.



The winger has rejoined the first-team after being disciplined for failing to report for training in August.


Van der Meyde, who was fined two weeks' wages, has been training with the Everton reserves since his wrongdoing.


Toffees assistant manager Alan Irvine spoke of his hope that the Dutchman has learnt his lesson.



Major lesson


"He's in the squad for the Sheffield Wednesday game," he told the club's official website.


"Andy was disciplined for badly stepping out of line and there has to come a point when the punishment is over and Andy has trained with us today for the first time.


"We all want to see the player who played for Ajax and went to Inter. Sadly for a number of reasons we haven't seen that.


"I am hoping that this is a major lesson for Andy and sets him back on the right path.


"I'm sure it's been very difficult for him but he brought it on himself and I'm sure he accepts that."

中場對抗性依舊很弱...雙phil完全不能與由保定及洛查碧克既組合爭奪中場...
猶幸是兩翼(派拿, 阿迪達)控球能力強, 彌補難以控制中場中路的缺失

另外Faddy可以返回應有的崗位 - 前鋒, 表現比任中場時好多了, 其突破能力與右路的阿迪達互相輝映....亦帶來了額外的空位給Yakubu及後上的派拿
Faddy + Yakubu. 一個突破型配合一個衝擊型.....AJ要留返打451拍Cahill / 442拍Vaughan ??

this match Jags made some mistakes....

Yobo....sometimes daydreaming during match

Pienaar , most impressive player in toffee midfielders in this match

(but somehow because the opposite side focus so much on Arteta only )

McFadden , what a great goal again

俾對方射成2-1時,真係好down, 腦海不斷呈現2年前輸比維拉利爾既情景............

好彩麥法頓及時黎料,禁區邊射入,絕對係我地反敗為勝既轉捩點!!!!!   wowowo~~~~

幾經辛苦終於入到分組賽, i am proud of all you guys!!!!you deserve to win!!!!!

btw, 雖然失波失得比較肉酸....最後贏到入到歐洲賽都是值得高興的

都係慶祝緊晉級ja ma...有咩分別

呢場波我地既防守其實唔多掂,第一球yobo嚴重失位,第二球mcfadden比人one two之後唔追人,phil仔又企係度俾人執雞.....係英超應付高波就冇問題, 一去到歐洲賽,對住d歐陸式小組踢法既球隊,立即現哂形,呢場贏好大程度上係我地只係贏在埋門質素高d.............希望球隊諗方法改善一下防守

進攻雖然用多左組織,不過仍嫌唔夠,落後時都係急急地吊高波入去送俾人,phil仔猶甚  唔好浪費arteta,osman,pineer,mcfadden呢類球員  

moyes今次換人果斷左,要讚讚,尤其落後緊時1-2時,好快作出調動,以Anichebe換入我地都覺得唔掂既Jagielka,攻力的確強左~ 結果好快又追成平手

另外要向今場既對手致敬,佢地既組織用技術真係唔錯,對住英超球隊領先緊,仍然放擔搶攻,絕無怯場,入既第二球,有個球員背向龍用腳痴一痴個波即180度轉身射門,表現令人讚賞
