Rosina Signs New Torino Contract
Alessandro Rosina has ended all speculation over his future by agreeing a new contract with Torino.
The 23-year-old was reported to be having difficulties negotiating an extension and their were strong reports that European Champions Milan were lining up a bid during the January transfer window.
Rosina has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal that expires in 2011 and will earn £1m a year, which is almost double his current annual salary.
The ex-Parma man is seen as one of Italy’s most promising youngsters and many regard him as a certain Azzurri regular in the future.
The decision not to move to a bigger club may worry Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni, who has surprisingly not called Rosina up to any of his squads, despite the player’s stunning form over the past year or so.
Last campaign Rosina was influential in helping Torino beat the drop as he scored nine Serie A goals. He started the new season in similarly imperious form with three goals in his first three games, including an absolute gem of a strike against Lazio and a screamer against Rimini in the Coppa Italia.
