Arsenal will be without six first-team players for their return to Premier League against Wigan on Saturday.
The leaders are likely to have five midfielders unavailable - Alex Hleb (hamstring), Mathieu Flamini (thigh), Cesc Fabregas (suspended), Abou Diaby (back) and Gilberto (fatigue). Philippe Senderos is back but Robin van Persie’s long-standing knee problem has not healed sufficiently for him to return.
The Dutchman last played for Arsenal against Sunderland on October 7. He picked up his injury during the international break that followed that game. It appears the most recent one has cost Arsenal a couple more players this time.
“Hleb came back with a hamstring injury,” Wenger told Arsenal.com on Thursday afternoon. “So once again we lose someone during this [international] period. I think he’ll be out for 21 days. Flamini came back with a little thigh problem too. That will be one week maximum.
“Senderos is available but Cesc is suspended. Diaby has a back problem from the Slavia Prague game and he’ll be out for three weeks. Robin van Persie is not back and he will not be back for Sevilla either. Gilberto will return very, very late. In fact he only comes back on Friday. So, as for the rest of the squad, we’ll see.”

Newcastle are without Michael Owen and Steven Taylor, injured after England and England U-21 duty respectively.
Abdoulaye Faye, Stephen Carr, Claudio Cacapa, Celestine Babayaro and Damien Duff are also out but Shay Given is fit and Nicky Butt is back from suspension.
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres will return to the starting line-up and centre-back Daniel Agger may also return after a two-month absence.
Midfielder Harry Kewell is also pushing for a starting spot.

Chelsea captain John Terry is fit to play against Derby County, but fellow central defender Ricardo Carvalho is out for at least four weeks.
Terry has missed Chelsea's last seven matches with a knee injury and also sat out England's final three Euro 2008 qualifiers.
He was reportedly close to figuring in Wednesday's 3-2 defeat to Croatia after joining his international team-mates for training earlier in the week.
And though the Wembley shocker came too soon for the defender, he will be included in the Blues' side for Saturday's Premier League trip to bottom club Derby County.
Ready to play
However, leading scorer Didier Drogba is doubtful with a knee injury and Carvalho has definitely been ruled out.
Carvalho suffered a back injury against Everton a fortnight ago and will be out for at least a month, having originally been scratched from Avram Grant's plans for eight weeks.
"Terry will play tomorrow," said Grant. "I think he is ready to play, but Didier Drogba is injured.
"The situation is not good with Ricardo though. He will miss at least four weeks."
