In September 2007, Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill opened talks with Laursen about a potential new contract,[1] but as of November Aston Villa had still not offered a new contract and Laursen said on November 17 that a switch home to Denmark would not be impossible, and esspecially F.C. Copenhagen would be a possibility.[2]
