Liverpool have sealed the permanent transfer of Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano on the last day of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder moved to Anfield from West Ham United last year, but Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has finally managed to secure the funds to make the move permanent, with Mascherano signing a four-year contract with the Reds for a fee believed to be £18.6million.

Reds yet to complete deal for Mascherano
Liverpool have moved to deny reports that they have clinched a permanent deal for midfielder Javier Mascherano.
It had been claimed this evening that the Reds had agreed to pay £18.6million for the Argentina international who has been on loan at Anfield for a year.
But a statement on the club's website insisted: 'Contrary to reports elsewhere, the deal to complete Javier Mascherano's permanent move to Liverpool has yet to be finalised.'
PA Sport understand terms have been agreed on a four-year deal, which is expected to be ratified next week.
The deal is expected to come into force in June, when the loan deal for the player expires.
Liverpool do not have to pay for the Argentinian player immediately because the Anfield club already hold his registration.
Rangers have completed the signing of Steven Davis from Fulham.
The Northern Ireland midfielder has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season.
"It really is a dream come true for me. I have been a fan all of my life so to get the chance to come to Rangers is fantastic," Davis told the club's website.
"I grew up as a fan and I have remained that way so when I heard that Rangers were interested in taking me it was a no-brainer really.
"Since the manager has been changed at Fulham things have not worked out for me so I welcome this chance to come to Glasgow.
"I hope to win trophies with Rangers in my time with the club. That would be fantastic. I obviously know who the players are and to play in the same team as Barry Ferguson would be great."
Davis only signed for Fulham in the summer when Lawrie Sanchez landed him on a four-year contract from Aston Villa.
But Sanchez has since left Craven Cottage and new manager Roy Hodgson has allowed him to move to Ibrox.
Should Davis impress, then Rangers have an option to make the deal permanent.
