Honda receives highest-ever transfer offer from AC Milan
Japanese soccer star Keisuke Honda may be on his way to the prestigious Serie A league.
The 24-year-old midfielder has received a transfer offer of 15 million pounds (about 27 billion won) from AC Millan, the highest he has received yet, Japanese media reported Tuesday.
'This is roughly the amount his current club CSKA Moscow was looking to receive, so the deal is likely to go through," said Sankei Sports.
AC Milan reportedly placed an initial offer of 10 million euro (about 15 billion won) for Honda, but his current club CSKA Moscow rejected it.
"I would like to carefully consider all options before making a decision," said Honda, who has also received offers from other top clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Olympique Marseille could be on the verge of a breathtaking coup of signings as Avi Assouly, a journalist close to les Phoceens, has indicated that Luis Suarez and Keisuke Honda could both move to the Ligue 1 champions.
Suarez, a forward who currently plies his trade with Ajax, and Honda, an offensive midfielder with CSKA, both enjoyed terrific World Cup campaigns, shining for Uruguay and Japan respectively.
Speaking to Football.fr, Assouly explained: “I can confirm what I wrote on my blog. Luis Suarez and Keisuke Honda are among the targets of Olympique de Marseille.
“[The chances of them signing for Marseille] are real, but in this environment, nothing is ever certain. So beware, I made the announcement via the information I received, but nothing is done. OM are currently working to conclude the negotiations successfully.”
Assouly divulged that les Phoceens are financially able to complete the signings, though only because they are ready to sell the likes of Taye Taiwo and Hatem Ben Arfa.
“When we signed Lucho Gonzalez for €18 million (£15m) and a bonus, you can attract other players of a certain size,” he said.
“Luis Suarez is at least €10m (£8.5m) from Ajax. Honda is more affordable but it should also be around that amount. In any case, Taiwo and Ben Arfa will leave to make money. Benoit Cheyrou also approaches the exit, especially if Honda comes. Fresh money will therefore go into the club's finances.”
Assouly has covered OM for 30 years and is considered to be one of the foremost reporters following the Provence club.
