Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has no new injury worries so he could field the same side that beat Reading.

However, he could opt to use the experienced John Arne Riise in midfield ahead of Ryan Babel.

Dutch stopper Van der Sar has resumed full training following a groin injury sustained in the FA Cup KO by Portsmouth.


And central defender Ferdinand is also back in training following a back injury.


Mikael Silvestre is near to a first-team comeback after six months out with a knee injury.


The French ace, 30, played 75 minutes for the reserves alongside Gary Neville in a 4-1 win over local rivals City last night. Danny Wellbeck hit a hat-trick.
