Aragonés: We Lack Luck
Spain national coach Luis Aragonés feels his side need to know how to compete and have a bit of luck to lift the Euro trophy...
The Spanish tactician participated in a ceremony organized by local newspaper Marca, who gathered together the players that won the Euro competition in 1964.
Aragonés believes that football nowadays "is not much different" from that time, adding that the current Spanish squad have what it takes to win their second Euro title in history.
"The squad from 1964 had great players, we have that now too and the important thing is to have the same spirit and that bit of luck that is needed in everything in our lives," Aragonés said.
"We need to work as hard as they worked and have the same strength and be convinced that we can be champions.In football, you need to step onto the pitch aware that you are going to win and think game by game, then something might happen."
The 69-year-old coach believes that it is not a matter of character, as the team "have always had character and always will have."
"Everything is balanced today, there are great squads and we have to go convinced that we can win it. Then, what happens, happens, but we need to think positive and try to win," he added.
