VfL Wolfsburg have added to their Japanese contingent with the acquisition of Yoshito Okubo from Vissel Kobe.
According to the latest reports emanating from Japan, the 26-year-old striker has agreed a deal to join compatriot Makoto Hasebe in Wolfsburg pending the results of a routine medical scheduled for Sunday.
This will be the forward's second stint of Europe, having failed to really get a foothold the first time during his spell with Real Mallorca, where he scored 5 goals in 39 games in the 2005-06 season.
Okubo's strike rate is much improved since returning to Japan and a ratio of 25 goals in 62 matches is bound to give him more faith in his own ability in what promises to be a pivotal six months for him coming up in Germany.
VfL Wolfsburg are yet to make any official announcement regarding the proposed deal
