Maradona issues Argie ultimatum

Reports from Buenos Aires suggest that Napoli legend Diego Maradona could resign as Argentina Coach just two weeks after his appointment.

Maradona fended off strong competition to earn the post after the departure of Alfio Basile on October 29.

The former calcio superstar was due to start his spell with the Albicelestes with a friendly against Scotland next Wednesday before taking complete control next month.

According to media sources in Argentina, Maradona had a heated row with AFA President Julio Grandona during a meeting that was called to name an assistant Coach.

Maradona reportedly demanded that Oscar Ruggeri and Alejandro Mancuso, while Grandona wants Jose Luis Brown and Sergio Batista.

It is believed that the 48-year-old left Buenos Aires having issued an ultimatum that he will quit unless he gets his way.
