Revenue Sharing and Draft

Now that the transfer deadline has passed, we can announce the final revenue sharing numbers for next season. We had given estimates at the all-star break. To remind you, the players are taking this money because the top players in the game are not quite good enough yet for the game to be properly balanced, as top teams are still unable to spend all of their income on players.

The players will be taking 20% of gate receipts in Division I leagues (down from 40%), 10% of gate receipts in Division II (down from 25%), and 0% of gate receipts in division III and lower.

As the quality of players in the game continues to improve and continues to reach equilibrium, we expect the players revenue share to continue to drop and to reach 0 for everybody.

Finally, our GMs have been working hard to improve the quality of player names in BuzzerBeater. As part of this effort, we have delayed the creation of the new draft class by a couple of days in order to use the best set of names available.
