The on-off-on-off-on-off transfer of Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petesburg to Arsenal is back on and "very close" to conclusion, according to Sky Sports. There is plenty of time for the £15m-ish deal to be off and back on again before the transfer window closes.

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Charles N'Zogbia has completed his medical at the JJB Stadium and that Ryan Taylor will be heading to Newcastle United as part of the deal. Whelan also confirmed that Wigan had rejected a bid for Antonio Valencia form Real Madrid.
15:45 - A reminder of just what is going on - the deadline, sensibly enough for a January transfer window, remains 5pm on February 2. But teams can continue to register deals until midnight if they can provide proof that they have been delayed by the adverse weather conditions. What kind of proof? Snowballs?

15.48 At last Arsenal and Zenit St Petersburg have finally agreed a fee for the transfer of Andrei Arshavin to the Gunners. The deal is still to be finalised though with Arshavin and the Russians still to sort out a final payment. It is understood Arshavin will wear the number 13 shirt.
