Sir Alex Ferguson insisted he wants Carlos Tevez to stay at Old Trafford after the Argentinian scored in Manchester United's 2-1 win at Wigan.

Tevez equalised with an impudent back-heel after Hugo Rodallega had given the Latics a first-half lead before Michael Carrick scored an 86th-minute winner to leave United only a point away from retaining their Premier League title.

Tevez's future has been in the spotlight over the past few days, with the former West Ham player quoted in a Sunday newspaper saying he does not expect to stay at the champions.

However, following the victory at the JJB Stadium, Ferguson told Sky: "He is a fantastic player.

"He knows I want him to stay. I had a chat with him today and (chief executive) David Gill has had meetings with him.

"I'm sorry I have to keep on going on about this, it has never changed. (The fact) we're not negotiating with a football club is the problem - we'll see."

Carrick paid tribute to Wigan following his late strike, saying: ''It (my goal) was worth the wait.

''To score goals as important as that is a great feeling - I had to make up for the miss in the first half, it's a great feeling.

''Wigan came at us and caused a few problems.

''It's not the first time we have come from behind - we did it the hard way.''

Arsenal and Chelsea have long been accused of overlooking homegrown talent in favour of foreign imports, but now Manchester United have followed in their footsteps and selected a starting XI featuring no Englishman.

Against Manchester City on Sunday, Sir Alex Ferguson field a team featuring no Englishman for the first time in United's illustrious history.

Liverpool are now the only member of the 'big four' who have played atleast one Englishman in every League game.

Back in 1999, Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli became the first manager in English football to name a team without a single Englishman and just over five years later Arsene Wenger named an entire squad of non-Englishmen for their home game against Crystal Palace.

United have traditionally formed the spine of their team with Englishmen, but Ferguson named a team of Brits, South Americans and Europeans for Sunday's derby.

Judging by the ease with which United brushed aside their neighbours, Ferguson won't have be having any sleepless nights about the make-up of his team.

However, Fabio Capello will have been dismayed to see the best team in the country field a team devoid of Englishman on a weekend when just 36 per cent of players selected to start were eligible for England duty.

呢幾年少喳
以前都叫有Carra Gerrard Owen Murphy Heskey
仲有一堆踢過幾場一隊既青訓

不過下季真係隨時無
上季仲有Crouch Pennant
今季好彩Carra 傷得少 ,但下季都難講了
