AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo could be the subject of Chelsea's desires and the English club are preparing a €25 million bid to lure him to London according to Sportmediaset.it.
New details emerging in the Italian press suggest that Adriano Galliani met with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon before heading to Madrid to negotiate the Kaka deal.
According to the report, the Milan man listened to an offer from Kenyon which borders around a €25m deal for the midfield ace. New coach Carlo Ancelotti stayed quiet over who he would take with him from the club, but the Italian press seem convinced Pirlo will head to the Premier League.
Pirlo is currently earning around €6.5m per season at the San Siro, high figures for a 30-year-old, and voices suggest the club want to bring down their overall wage bill and balance the books.
In addition, new coach Leonardo is set to change Milan's tactical setup, fuelling speculation that certain players may leave to accommodate his new plans.
Although a number of players have been linked to follow Ancelotti by Sportmediaset in recent weeks, neither club has made any official comments on the speculation.
