Claudio Ranieri Launches Angry Attack On Juventus
The tactician has launched a barbed attack on the Old Lady, but would not be drawn on the reported legal battle with the club.
Juventus sacked Claudio Ranieri on May 18 after a poor run of seven games without a victory and placed Ciro Ferrara in charge for the final two games of the Serie A season, however, the 'Tinkerman' has hit out at the Old Lady and their new coach.
Ferrara went on to take maximum points with wins over Siena and Lazio to secure a second-place finish, however, Ranieri was far from impressed.
“The second spot is a target that Juventus would have reached even without a coach on the bench,” Ranieri sniped last night after being presented with the Capo Vaticano award in Ricadi.
“The last two games’ outcome were already written and anyone would have won them.”
Ranieri has always maintained that the club’s objective was simply to reach a Champions League berth and there have been reports that he is ready to take legal action against the Turin giants over their refusal to compensate him for his dismissal.
“That’s up to my lawyer,” replied the ex-Chelsea boss. “Of course, when a coach meets a given target and then gets sacked, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but the anger is gone now.”
