England forward Theo Walcott believes he will develop into an out-and-out striker over the next couple of years.
The Arsenal winger, who scored a hat-trick for England in Croatia in a World Cup qualifier last September, has played almost exclusively on the right flank so far in his career.
But the 20-year-old, currently in Sweden on England Under-21 duty for the European Championships, expects his long-term future to lie up front where his searing pace can be fully utilised.
"I spoke to the boss and he wants to sort of gradually move me into a striker role," Walcott told the Daily Express. "I'll happily play anywhere for this club.
"But no-one has seen me as a striker at the moment, which is my main position, so I'll be working well on that in the next couple of years."
